Daily Care For Long Hair

Gorgeous long hair is a mark of femininity and can make a woman feel sensual. We've all seen woman with long hair and wished that we could have hair like theirs. Happily enough, most of us can. However, long hair must be carefully cared for or it can become brittle and stringy.

The first thing to keep in mind is that hair doesn't need to be washed every day. Daily washing strips hair of its natural oils that make hair shiny and add luster. You'll find that the ends of your hair tend to dry out faster because they're far from your scalp and that means that the oils take longer to reach the ends. Your scalp is a different matter and may get oilier faster. You can try doing a scalp wash. Bun your hair at the top of your head and just wash your scalp with shampoo. Try not too get shampoo on the hair that you put on the top of your head.

Wash the length of your hair every other day and then work towards two or three times a week. When you do wash the length of your hair, make sure you condition. And leave the conditioner on your hair for a couple of minutes. Also, comb the conditioner through your hair with a wide toothed comb.

Remember never to brush your hair when wet. You'll break your hair more easily when it's wet. Simply comb through with a wide toothed comb and let your hair dry. And don't rub your hair through a towel to dry it. Simply squeeze the excess water out and wait for it to dry. Another thing to remember is to never go to sleep with wet hair. Tossing and turning is sure to break your hair.

When hair is damp, try a leave in product to get rid off frizzies and hold in moisture. There are plenty of products out there or you can use simply ones as well. Cocoa butter and almond oil work great. Just put a little in the palm of your hand, let it warm up, rub your hands together and then rub your hands over your hair concentrating more on the ends than the scalp.

Brushing hair should be done carefully and with natural bristles when possible. Pearson Mason has wonderful boar bristles brushes. Although expensive, they're well worth it. The same goes for combing hair, try to use wooden combs, or horn combs if you can. Be gentle on your hair when you brush it. Try turning your head up side down and brushing your hair that way as well. This is a great way to add body to your hair.

Remember if you treat your hair well, it will look great. Daily care is a great way to start caring for your hair. Don't forget about weekly and monthly care as well.
