4-Quick Mends for Thinning Tresses

Amongst men and women, hair loss is a prevalent phenomenon. According to a report published by the Cleveland Clinic, average hair loss ranges between 25 and 100 hair fibers a day.

From crash diets, stress, and various other medical conditions, hair loss is caused by a host of maladies. Toupees, Rogaine and hair transplants are some of the alternatives men have. But, a woman's options do not necessitate such extreme measures. In America, more than 19.5 million women are afflicted with hair loss.

So, what's a girl to when she finds herself losing tresses? As the Donald Trump comb over may works for a few gents, it does not coif well for the ladies. Fortunately, four tactics can mask those thinning tresses.

Dry and style tenderly.

After showering, dry the hair with care. Never rub, pull or handle hair in a harsh manner. Instead, gently dab a towel at the head to absorb moisture without manipulating hair strands. Also, wet hair should be groomed using a comb opposed to a brush. Detangle hair using a wide toothcomb. Lose the 100-stroke theory because it's a myth. Hair should be brushed long enough to style it.

Condition, it right.

Oily hairdressings, heavy gels and creamy conditioners tend to weigh the hair down, drawing attention to a slender hairline. Leave-in hair conditioners not only replenish hair follicles but also enhance the overall appearance of hair volume.

Manage hair with heed.

Hair loss is attributed to hair coloring, permanents and chemical hair treatments. Small curlers, tightly coiffed hair and over extending tresses serve as a recipe for hair loss. Naturally, the more hair is pulled the more apt it is to fall out. Hair experts contend that hair can be salvaged as long as it is not over manipulated.

Scrunch it.

Subsequent to combing wet hair, add styling products or a leave-in conditioner and use a volumizer to dry hair. For a fast style fix, scrunch hair to create a wavy look. The overall effect of wavy hair renders the illusion of a thicker, fuller head of hair.
